Report: Doncic to be NBA Live 20 cover athlete

EA Sports has reportedly chosen its cover athlete for NBA Live 20.

Dallas Mavericks star and reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Luka Donic will be featured on the cover of the upcoming video game, a source told Brian Mazique of Forbes. Doncic would be the first Mavs player to ever appear on the cover of a major NBA video game, though the 20-year-old apparently wasn't EA Sports' first choice.

Mazique reported in June that EA Sports offered Zion Williamson in the range of $1 million to be its NBA Live 20 cover star. A source told Mazique the drama surrounding Williamson's agent representation - he filed a lawsuit in June to terminate his contract with Florida-based Prime Sports Marketing - may have been the reason the two sides failed to reach a deal.

NBA Live's rival, NBA 2K, recently unveiled Anthony Davis as its latest cover star.
