Dolphins' Norton to be released from hospital

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton, who had his left arm amputated after a car accident two weeks ago, is set to leave hospital Thursday, his agent announced.

Norton has undergone six surgeries since the career-ending crash on July 4.

The NFL announced last week that all of Norton's medical expenses will be covered by the league and his team's insurance. He will likely be placed on the non-football injury list by the Dolphins, who will then have the option of paying him his $495,000 salary for next season.

Norton was cited as at fault for the accident due to making an improper lane change, which caused him to hit another vehicle and a concrete barrier, and flip his Ford F-250 truck.

The 22-year-old was picked by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2018 draft. He never played an NFL snap.
