Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen suffered an ankle injury at practice this week but is expected to be ready for the team's season opener, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The injury could reportedly keep Allen out of commission for the rest of the preseason.
Allen led the Chargers in receiving last season with 1,196 yards and six touchdowns. He was the third-leading receiver in the NFL two seasons ago, when he posted 1,393 yards and six scores.
The Chargers will host the Indianapolis Colts in their season opener Sept. 8.
