Madden's franchise mode will prevent Brady from retiring in 2020
Tom Brady won't be hanging up his cleats next offseason - at least not in Madden.
In the latest update for Madden NFL 20, EA Sports notes that Brady will be prevented from retiring until at least 2021 in its franchise mode.
It's official, Tom Brady isn't retiring next season.

Brady recently signed a two-year extension with the New England Patriots through 2021, although both seasons will reportedly become void at the end of the current league year.
Madden associate franchise designer Andre Weingarten offered the following explanation for the change:
we know exactly how the contract works. Its cap manipulation without extending the contract (dummy years after 2019).

Odds are he plays next year though, hence the change.
Madden NFL 20 was released Aug. 2.
