Abdul-Jabbar among contributors to Marvel Comics' 80th anniversary issue
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has joined forces with Marvel Comics for a special issue celebrating the publisher's 80th anniversary.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer is among the guest writers featured in Marvel Comics' 1,000th issue, according to the Associated Press' Anthony McCartney. The new issue will honor Marvel's most iconic characters.
Abdul-Jabbar worked alongside Raymond Obstfeld - the co-author of several of his novels - and comic book artist Mattia De Iulis.

This is the second big project Abdul-Jabbar has been involved with this summer. He was also a writer on the "Veronica Mars" reboot, which premiered in July.
