Former JBA players say league still owes them money

LaVar Ball's Junior Basketball Association came under scrutiny last year after multiple players spoke out about not being paid, and the issue apparently hasn't been fully resolved.

In a feature by the New York Post's Jake Nisse on the JBA, two former players said they're still waiting on money from the league.

Brandon Willis, who played for the Seattle Ballers for the last two-and-a-half weeks of the JBA's inaugural season, claims the league didn't pay him a cent and didn't give him a contract to sign.

"I thought it could be something very special," Willis said.

Atlanta Ballers forward Fionn Brown told Nisse he was only partially paid and regrets his decision to pass on Division I schools in favor of joining the JBA. He's now without college eligibility.

"They just completely messed me up," he said.

When Ball launched the JBA, he promised to pay players a monthly salary of $3,000 and 60 percent of the proceeds from their jersey sales. However, the league scrapped the sales of jerseys, according to Nisse.

As for the future of the JBA, that remains up in the air. The league hasn't tweeted since June and deleted all but one photo from its Instagram account.
