Owens sues storage company for selling his NFL memorabilia
Terrell Owens is suing an Atlanta storage company after a locker containing his NFL memorabilia was auctioned off earlier this year.
The Hall of Fame wide receiver filed a $1-million lawsuit in federal court against Atlanta Peach Movers, Inc., accusing the company of stealing his memorabilia and selling it without his knowledge or consent, according to Bob D'Angelo of Sports Collectors Daily.
TMZ Sports reported in April that the locker was auctioned off after Owens stopped making payments. However, Owens says he removed what he thought was all of his property from the facility in 2014 and settled his account.
The lawsuit states that the items taken from the locker include Owens' game-worn jerseys, autographed uniforms, shoes, and other "rare football-related items," including awards, plaques, trophies, and "one of a kind" and prototype shoes made by Nike and other shoe companies.
Owens is seeking damages, attorney fees, and other relief for the "improper and unlawful sale" of his memorabilia.
