Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen left in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 16-10 loss to the New England Patriots after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed postgame Allen was in the concussion protocol. He also slammed the hit Allen took while scrambling.
"It's disappointing because there's no room for that kind of play in the NFL," he said.
Allen, 23, was replaced by Matt Barkley, who threw a late interception to seal New England's win.
While Allen was jogging to the locker room, he attempted to pump up the home crowd.
The second-year passer rushed for one touchdown but threw three interceptions prior to his departure.
