Washington Wizards fans hoping to see Kevin Durant play for his hometown team one day may be out of luck.

Durant, who was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Maryland, was asked if he ever considered returning home during an appearance on Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning," and was quick to say "No."

"I played up until I was 17 at home, so I played all my time. It's time for me to explore other parts of the world playing basketball," Durant explained (starts at the 12:20 mark).

Co-host Peter Rosenberg then asked the Brooklyn Nets star if he's worried the Washington Redskins' struggles could "leak into" the rest of the D.C. area.

"That is one thing, yeah, I worry about, of course," Durant replied, laughing. "The curse, I guess, of the 'Skins over D.C."

Durant said he's still "dialed into" the Redskins, but admitted he hasn't been watching the team every week anymore.

The Redskins are 0-5 on the season and currently sit in last place in the NFC East. The team fired head coach Jay Gruden on Monday morning following a 33-7 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.
