Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen is unlikely to play on Thursday Night Football against the Washington Redskins, but the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 7 isn't considered serious, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Thielen underwent an MRI on Monday after being forced out of Sunday's victory over the Detroit Lions. After the game, the wideout said he was "optimistic" he'd be ready for Thursday. He's now targeting a Nov. 3 date with the Kansas City Chiefs for his return, according to Pelissero.

The 29-year-old Thielen was injured while making a touchdown grab against Detroit. He ranks second on the Vikings in receiving behind Stefon Diggs, who's exploded for three 100-yard outings over the last four contests.

The Vikings will carry a 5-2 record into the Week 8 opener against the struggling 1-6 Redskins.
