Man arrested after trying to steal Brady jersey from Patriots HOF
A Rhode Island man was arrested Thursday after attempting to steal a game-worn Tom Brady jersey from the Patriots Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium, CBS Boston reports.
New England Patriots security, with help from two police officers, found 33-year-old Zanini Cineus of Providence in the stadium plaza parking lot allegedly wearing the stolen jersey under his jacket. Cineus is accused of stealing other memorabilia as well.
The jersey is valued at $10,000, according to David Linton of The Attleboro Sun Chronicle.
Cineus pleaded not guilty to a charge of larceny at an arraignment hearing in Wrentham District Court, though police say he told them he stole the jersey.
In 2017, the FBI helped track down two of Brady's jerseys stolen from his locker after Super Bowls XLIX and LI.
