Report: Baylor's Rhule a hot candidate for Giants, Panthers, Cowboys
NFL teams could be fighting over Baylor head coach Matt Rhule in the coming days.
Rhule is a sought-after head coaching candidate and has interest from the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Dallas Cowboys, who are expected to part ways with Jason Garrett, will likely join the pursuit of the 44-year-old, added Rapoport.
The Giants fired Pat Shurmur on Monday, while the Panthers parted ways with Ron Rivera at the beginning of December.
Rhule has been with the Bears for three seasons. He's drawing NFL attention after turning a 1-11 Baylor team into an 11-2 squad that's now entering its first Sugar Bowl in 62 years. He's contracted with the Bears through the 2027 season, so interested pro teams would presumably have to pay a hefty buyout in order to secure his services.
