Mayweather teases McGregor rematch after UFC 246

Floyd Mayweather was quick to hint at a potential rematch with Conor McGregor after the Irishman's successful return at UFC 246 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Mayweather, one of the greatest boxing champions of all time, posted a mock poster with him and McGregor on it early Sunday morning.

McGregor, who finished Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds in Saturday's headliner, crossed over to boxing in 2017 to take on Mayweather in one of the biggest matches in combat sports history. The former UFC two-division champion lost the bout via 10th-round TKO.

Mayweather retired after the win over McGregor and has not competed in the ring since.

In November, "Money" announced he'd be coming out of retirement in 2020. UFC president Dana White has confirmed he's in talks to work with Mayweather in some capacity. White said last week that could involve the ex-boxing champ stepping back into the ring.

Last week, ahead of McGregor's fight versus Cerrone, "The Notorious" said he's interested in the rematch with Mayweather. He said one of his goals is to win a boxing title before hanging up his gloves for good.

McGregor stepped foot inside the Octagon for the first time since October 2018, when he lost to UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. He hadn't won an MMA fight in more than three years before Saturday's victory.
