Wade critiques 2003 NBA draft suits: 'We was in a baggy era'
The 2003 NBA Draft is memorable not only for the amount of talent it produced, but also for the baggy, ill-fitting suits worn by the draftees - a group that included LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade.
Looking back on his draft night attire, Wade acknowledges that he and the rest of the 2003 class weren't the most fashionable by today's standards.
"We got enough fabric on these suits to clothe the entire country," he joked in an interview with Scott Davis of Business Insider.
Wade sported a dark blue suit with a lighter blue shirt and tie. James went for a more bold, all-white look, and Anthony wore a grey suit with six buttons down the front of the jacket.
"This is just the era that we was in," Wade said. "We was in a baggy era. I'm talking about pants-on-the-ground era, you know, where they're dragging."
Wade believes current draft looks will age badly too, and he wouldn't be surprised if baggy suits make a comeback in the near future.
"In fashion, it all comes back, you know," he said. "So that fashion that we had is coming back now. They bringing baggy back."
