A 62-year-old former U.S. Marine has set a new world record for the longest time in the abdominal plank position.
George Hood held a plank for 8 hours, 15 minutes, and 15 seconds to reclaim the world record title, according to Guinness World Records. He logged around 2,100 hours of planking to prepare for his latest attempt.
"It's four-five hours a day in the plank pose," Hood told Alicia Lee of CNN. "Then I do 700 pushups a day, 2,000 sit-ups a day in sets of a hundred, 500 leg squats a day. For upper body and the arms, I do approximately 300 arm curls a day."
Hood said he now has his sights set on breaking the Guinness World Record for most pushups completed in an hour. The benchmark is 2,806.
