Jackson State team manager 'Snacks' Lee hopes to meet idol KD
Jackson State men's basketball team manager Thomas "Snacks" Lee has taken social media by storm since draining a deep 3-pointer Monday during the Tigers' 76-56 win over Arkansas Pine-Bluff on senior night.
Lee, suiting up for the Tigers for the first time, missed his first three attempts before making his fourth shot with 17 seconds remaining in the game. He quickly went viral, even earning a shoutout from his favorite player, Kevin Durant.
Lee spoke about his admiration for Durant in an interview with TMZ Sports.
"Kevin Durant has been my favorite player since he played at Texas. I started following him when he played at Texas, and he kind of stood out to me besides the other guys that I was watching at the time," Lee explained. "So at home, I got an enormous collection of KD jerseys from the Warriors, the Oklahoma City Thunder. And I was currently looking for a Brooklyn Nets KD jersey."
After catching Durant's attention on Twitter, Lee is now hoping to meet him in person.
"It would be an amazing experience if I could actually meet him in person. So there's a lot of people rooting for me to be able to just meet Kevin Durant and things like that, 'cause I call myself 'Fat Durant' and a lot of people find that funny."
The Southwestern Athletic Conference named Lee its Player of the Week on Tuesday.
