Chelsea: Hudson-Odoi 'feeling fine' following self-isolation
Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the road to recovery less than two weeks after becoming the first Premier League player to test positive for the coronavirus.
The 19-year-old Chelsea winger is "feeling fine and back to his usual self" after a period of self-isolation followed his COVID-19 diagnosis on March 13, according to a club statement.
"In addition to feeling good, the young winger is hard at work training at home to build and maintain his fitness, as are the rest of the Chelsea squad," the statement adds.
The Blues took measures to reduce the risk of spreading the disease by closing down their training ground so that it could undergo a deep-cleaning procedure.
A day before Hudson-Odoi's test results were confirmed, Arsenal announced manager Mikel Arteta had also contracted the virus. Arteta said Sunday that he has recovered following a period of self-isolation.
News of their infections over the span of two days eventually led to the Premier League suspending play until April 4. English football has since been further postponed until April 30.
