The NBA will allow teams to open their training facilities for players May 1, provided the individual club's local government has eased stay-at-home orders, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Facilities will only be allowed to host individual workouts, sources told Wojnarowski.
The NBA still has no set date for the 2019-20 season to resume, but it reportedly prioritized finding locations where players can train safely.
Players had begun asking clubs about the feasibility of traveling to Georgia, where some businesses, including gymnasiums, have begun to reopen, but organizations prefer their personnel to work out in team environments, Wojnarowski adds.
The league reportedly ordered all teams to close their training facilities beginning March 20 in an effort to curb the coronavirus outbreak. Players have since been limited to workouts in their own homes. However, some stars revealed they have been unable to practice with an actual basketball and are limited to cardio exercises.
