Jordan's agent: MJ would average 50-60 points per game today
Michael Jordan's longtime agent believes he would be "completely unstoppable" if he was playing in today's NBA.
David Falk defended Jordan's GOAT status in an interview with "The Sports Junkies" on 106.7 The Fan, saying a prime Jordan could average 50-60 points per game now.
"I watch a lot of NBA games, as you know, and the game evolves," Falk said. "And Michael, because he's such a class act, completely steers away from trying to compare himself to LeBron, or Kobe, or anybody else. He says that's for the fans to do.
"But if you asked me, watching all those games, with virtually zero defense, no hand-checking, I think if Jordan played today - if he was in his prime in today's rules - I think he'd average between 50 and 60 a game. I think he'd shoot 75% from the floor. If you couldn't hand-check him, he'd be completely unstoppable."
Watching ESPN's documentary series "The Last Dance" has also given Falk a newfound appreciation for Jordan.
"I think I missed two Finals games the entire time out of six championships," Falk said. "Now that I watch it, I realize that, unless you're legally blind, you can't possibly think that there's another player who ever played the game that's remotely in the league that he's in. Nobody. On both ends of the court. The athleticism, the smarts, the drive."
Jordan averaged 30.12 points per game over the course of his career, the highest mark in NBA history. LeBron James currently sits fourth on the list at 27.10 points per game.
