MJ's son recalls needing stitches after dad tackled him in football game
Michael Jordan's competitiveness wasn't limited to the basketball court, and even his children occasionally felt his wrath.
During a recent appearance on "The Breakfast Club," Jordan's sons, Marcus and Jeffrey, shared a story about a family football game ending with their dad accidentally tackling Jeffrey into a glass table. Jeffrey needed 30 stitches.
"When we was little, we would play football on our knees, like tackle football on our knees with my dad, right?" Marcus said at the 5:20 mark below. "And so there was this one time where we were playing in their room and they had these round, like, end tables at the end of their bed. And so Jeff was going for a touchdown - and I'll never forget it - my dad tackled Jeff into the glass table.
"Jeff hits his head table into the glass table. I thought he was dead. I mean, you could literally see the meat and skull. Me and (my sister) Jasmine were terrified, we were crying."
Although Michael was still competitive at home, Jeffrey said there's a misconception that he wasn't able to turn it off.
"He definitely could turn that off and be dad. Take us to school, you know, make sure we got our work done and did everything we needed to do," he said. "But when it was on, it was on. It was competition."
