Bill Murray wants more credit for helping Jordan win in 'Space Jam'
Bill Murray is tired of people overlooking his role in helping Michael Jordan and the Tune Squad defeat the Monstars in "Space Jam."
The legendary actor, who played himself in the 1996 live-action/animated comedy, joked Wednesday on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that he deserves more credit for his performance.
"People forget that I got the assist on the game-winning basket," Murray said. "You know, so easily forgotten ... I stole the ball. I made the pass. I got nothing. I wasn't even interviewed after."
Murray also shared a memory from being on set with Jordan, revealing they would play golf together in between shooting scenes.
"We would just go play golf for an hour. Play three, four holes of golf with Larry Bird and Michael and myself," he said. "That was a lot of fun."
The "Space Jam" sequel, "Space Jam: A New Legacy," is set to hit theaters in July 2021.
