With the 46th pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, the Colorado Rockies selected Chris McMahon, a junior right-handed pitcher out of Miami.
McMahon was a member of the USA national collegiate baseball team last summer. Prior to the 2020 season's cancellation, he was working on a breakout junior year for the Hurricanes, as he tied for the team lead in strikeouts while walking fewer than two batters per nine innings. That performance put McMahon on the 2020 Golden Spikes Award watch list.
