Indians select FIU lefty Logan Allen No. 56 overall
With the 56th pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, the Cleveland Indians selected Logan Allen, a left-hander out of Florida International.
The FIU southpaw is a polished strike-thrower who gets results beyond what his stuff indicates. Despite using only roughly average pitches in his repertoire, Allen pounded the strike zone and dominated hitters in the Cape Cod League last year, posting a 24-to-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio without allowing a homer or earned run.
This is the second Logan Allen the Indians will have after acquiring another left-hander with the same name last year in a three-way trade with the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds.
