With the 77th pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, the Toronto Blue Jays selected Trent Palmer, a junior right-handed pitcher out of Jacksonville.
Palmer was ranked as the 114th-best prospect by MLB.com. The 21-year-old Minnesota native is coming off his first year as a full-time starter following two years spent primarily in Jacksonville's bullpen. During a shortened 2020 season, Palmer's 1.30 ERA and 8.20 strikeout-to-walk ratio both ranked third in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
