Lawrence, teammates to lead protest on Clemson campus
Trevor Lawrence will be among a group of Clemson players taking part in a protest march on the school's campus Saturday.
The Tigers quarterback organized the protest along with teammates Cornell Powell, Darien Rencher, and Mike Jones Jr., according to David M. Hale of ESPN. The players reached out to local businesses, police, and Clemson president James Clements in preparation for the event, which follows a wave of other demonstrations held around the world in the wake of the death of George Floyd in police custody.

Lawrence defended athletes' right to speak up on social and political issues Thursday.
"As humans, we're entitled to what we believe and what we think is right," he said, per ESPN College Football. "Even though what we do is entertainment ... we still have values and beliefs, and any human should want to do what's right when they see something that's not right."
