Report: NBA teams allowed 17 rooms for family at players' expense after 1st round

NBA teams will be permitted to book up to 17 rooms at the Walt Disney World Resort for players' families and guests following the opening round of the playoffs, but players will be responsible for the costs, sources told The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor.

The extra accommodations available would supposedly scale with the size of each team's roster. For example, while the NBA reportedly plans to cap squads in Orlando to 17 players, a team that takes just 15 players would only be permitted 15 rooms, reports The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Guests will reportedly have to self-quarantine before arriving at the site, with another four days of on-location quarantine to follow.

Any guest that leaves the campus environment will not be permitted to return, Charania reports.

Agents reportedly won't be allowed to enter unless they are also a player's family member.

The league and the National Basketball Players Association reportedly held talks in late May on how to safely allow family members to join players in the Orlando "bubble" environment. It's believed the two sides discussed allowing loved ones to travel to Walt Disney World only after some teams have been eliminated from playoff contention.
