The 2006-07 Golden State Warriors, known as the "We Believe" team, will be the subject of an upcoming documentary.

Former NBA forward Matt Barnes, who was a member of the team, revealed Thursday on 95.7 The Game's "Bonta, Steiny & Guru" show that production is underway.

"It kind of got put on hold, but it's actually rolling now," he said, according to Drew Shiller of NBC Bay Area. "Myself, Baron Davis, Jack (Stephen Jackson) - we're getting the crew back together. We've assembled a solid team behind to help produce and direct it.

"Hopefully, that'll get going once we find some sort of normalcy back in this country. So I'm hoping within the next few months we'll jump back on that project. But myself and Baron, we're doing all kinds of political (things) right now. So that's kind of been put on the back burner.

"But that is definitely coming sooner than later."

Barnes first teased the documentary in November while recounting the Warriors' wild celebration after upsetting the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 NBA playoffs. Golden State went on to lose to the Utah Jazz in the conference semifinals and didn't make the postseason again until 2013.
