76ers' Thybulle offers glimpse at NBA bubble life in YouTube series
Philadelphia 76ers rookie guard Matisse Thybulle is taking fans inside the NBA bubble in Orlando with a video diary series.
"Welcome to the Bubble" launched July 11 on YouTube and has racked up more than 500,000 views per video. Thybulle's handling all the filming, narrating, and editing.
"I knew there would be a ton of buzz about basketball starting up and that this was something that people would be interested in," Thybulle told Scott Cacciola of The New York Times. "But in my mind, I'm like, 'Am I going to be able to present it to them in a way that's actually entertaining?'"
In the latest episode, Thybulle talks to his father on Facetime, gives a tour of the players' lounge, and shows how the players in the bubble are required to take their own temperature each day.
The series has drawn praise from Thybulle's teammate Ben Simmons.
"I love it," Simmons told reporters. "It's a historic moment for sports in general, so I think what he's been doing has been great."
