Matt Barnes united with 2017 Warriors championship ring
Matt Barnes' championship ring from his 2017 title run with the Golden State Warriors is finally in his possession.
Barnes was initially presented with the ring during a ceremony at Oracle Arena the following season, but as he explained on his "All the Smoke" podcast in May, he never took it home and it remained at the office of Warriors senior vice president of communications Raymond Ridder ever since.
The ring is now back with Barnes after the Warriors had it delivered to the set of ESPN's "The Jump" on Tuesday.
"'Cause this thing's so big, I didn't want to sit in the stands with it, so they put it in a room," Barnes said, clarifying why he never received the ring. "And when I was ready to leave, the room was locked, and then it's just been cat and mouse ever since."

Barnes previously said he felt like he "got a free ride" during the 2017 run due to his small role on the Warriors, whom he joined toward the end of the regular season that year. He was also a part of the 2006-07 "We Believe" Warriors and is working on a documentary about that team.
