Report: D-Backs open to trading Starling Marte, Bradley

The Arizona Diamondbacks could be sellers ahead of Monday's trade deadline after dropping nine of their last 10 games.

Arizona sits in the basement of the NL West and is open to dealing closer Archie Bradley and center fielder Starling Marte, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Marte is hitting .322/.396/.458 with two home runs, eight doubles, and five stolen bases in 32 games. The Diamondbacks traded for Marte during the offseason. The 31-year-old has a $12.5-million team option for 2021 before becoming a free agent.

The Houston Astros - who are in desperate need of pitching amid a multitude of injuries - have interest in acquiring Bradley from Arizona, as well as left-handed starter Robbie Ray, Rosenthal reports.

Bradley, 28, has spent his entire six-year career in Arizona. The right-hander has posted a 3.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts in 10 innings, and he hasn't allowed a run in seven of his nine appearances this season. He's arbitration-eligible for a third and final time this winter before hitting free agency.

Ray has been one of the NL's worst pitchers this year, owning a 7.84 ERA, 2.00 WHIP, and a league-high 31 walks through his first seven starts. The Astros believe they can fix the 28-year-old's issues, though, according to Rosenthal.
