Jon Jones wants to jump the line and face UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

The former light heavyweight titleholder made a case for that fight on social media Monday, saying it lines up perfectly with the timing of his move to heavyweight.

"Stipe asked for a new challenge, why not fight the light heavyweight goat?" Jones wrote on Twitter. "Besides we're way closer in size. What's more exciting than that?

"By the time he heals up, my body weight should be right where it needs to be," he added. "This fight lines up perfectly."

After Miocic retained his belt against Daniel Cormier at UFC 252 last month, UFC president Dana White said top contender Francis Ngannou was next in line for a championship fight. After Jones vacated his 205-pound belt to pursue a run in the heavyweight division, White said "Bones" could get an immediate title shot, but not until the rematch between Miocic and Ngannou happens.

Though Miocic admitted Ngannou should be next, he recently said that bout doesn't excite him since he already dominated "The Predator" in 2018. The champion added he would prefer a "new challenge," such as a boxing match.

"Looking at it from Stipe's point of view, fighting Francis again is definitely more of a lose situation than a win," Jones wrote.

"Stipe versus Francis is high-risk, low reward, Stipe versus myself actually makes a lot of sense for both of us," he added. "Now you actually have a super fight. Stipe loses (to Ngannou and) the fight is gone."

Ngannou, who's won four straight bouts, responded to Jones' series of tweets Tuesday.

"I thought I told you to sit down and wait your turn, Jonny?" he wrote. "Stipe can not avoid me any longer."

Jones also sent a message to pro wrestling star and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, who recently became a free agent after his WWE contract expired.

"I’ll beatcho ass too," he wrote.
