Bauer will consider all offers in free agency, even from the Astros
With free agency nearing, Trevor Bauer is ready to field offers from all suitors, and he isn't ruling out any team.
Not even the Houston Astros.
Bauer was one of the most vocal critics of how the league handled the Astros' sign-stealing scandal, calling commissioner Rob Manfred a "joke."
The animosity extended into the 2020 season when Bauer and Astros hurler Lance McCullers Jr. engaged in a Twitter spat about the scandal.
The 29-year-old never shies away from an opportunity to troll the Astros or their fans.
However, if the money talks loud enough, he would presumably be willing to suit up for Houston next season, even if it's only for one year. The right-hander said in 2019 that he only wants to sign one-year contracts to maximize his career earnings.
Bauer will surely receive plenty of interest, especially after he put together an excellent campaign that could earn him the 2020 NL Cy Young. Over 11 starts, Bauer posted an NL-best 1.73 ERA and 0.79 WHIP while striking out 100 batters in 73 innings with the Cincinnati Reds.
