Agent: Bauer no longer committed to only 1-year deals

Trevor Bauer has had a change of heart.

The impending free agent famously said he intended to pursue only one-year contracts when he hit free agency after the 2020 season. His agent, Rachel Luba, said Sunday that's no longer set in stone.

Following the Cincinnati Reds' exit from the postseason, Bauer began tweeting about various teams that could serve as his new home in 2021. The right-hander even joked that he could play in Japan.

Bauer also didn't rule out joining the Houston Astros despite being openly critical of the team for its 2017 sign-stealing scandal.

Nevertheless, Bauer is poised to have plenty of suitors on the open market after going 5-4 with an NL-best 1.73 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 100 strikeouts over 73 innings in 2020.

Over parts of nine seasons with the Reds, Cleveland Indians, and Arizona Diamondbacks, Bauer is 75-64 with a 3.90 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. He made the American League All-Star team and finished sixth in Cy Young voting in 2018.
