Rodgers not interested in NFL broadcasting career
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won't be following in Tony Romo's footsteps once his NFL career comes to an end.
When asked Tuesday on "The Pat McAfee Show" if he has any interest in becoming a broadcaster, Rodgers explained that he'd rather channel his football knowledge into helping younger players.
"Well, I've given a lot to this game. I've been playing since I was in eighth grade. I've been playing 16 years, and I just feel like when I'm done I want to be done," Rodgers said. "I think it'd be fun to help out an age group that I feel like is real impressionable still, like high school kids. I think being able to, you know, just volunteer, help, or just help with some quarterback stuff, I think would be fun. Just because I love the game so much I don't want to totally get out of it, but as far as the pro level, yeah, I mean, I don't see myself doing anything with it."
The 36-year-old Rodgers is in the midst of his 16th NFL season and has said he plans to continue playing until he's at least 40, which is when his current deal with the Packers ends.
