Memphis Zoo names baby giraffe after Morant

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant now has an animal named in his honor.
The Memphis Zoo announced Thursday that it named its newest baby giraffe Ja Raffe as a nod to the 2019-20 NBA Rookie of the Year. The calf was born Nov. 10 to parents Niklas and Angela Kate.

Morant, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, averaged 17.8 points, 7.3 assists, and 3.9 rebounds in his first season with the Grizzlies.
