Valdes-Scantling says he's received death threats after overtime fumble
Green Bay Packers receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling played the roles of both hero and goat on Sunday.
The third-year wideout had an incredible fourth-quarter catch that helped set up a game-tying field goal to force overtime against the Indianapolis Colts.
However, Valdes-Scantling lost a fumble just two plays into overtime, and the Colts kicked a game-winning field goal four snaps later.
After the game, the wideout said he received unsavory messages from fans.
Though Valdes-Scantling is hearing it from fans, he received plenty of support from his Packers brethren.
"I know he's really hurting right now. He made so many plays for us not only in the pass game, but the run game," said head coach Matt LaFleur, according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "I've got more confidence in him now than probably ever."
