No athlete has been name-dropped more in songs than Kobe Bryant, a new study has found.

The late Los Angeles Lakers legend has been mentioned more than 1,100 times in song lyrics, including "The Heart Pt. 2" by Kendrick Lamar and "Kobe Bryant" by Lil Wayne, according to TopRatedCasinos.co.uk. Lionel Messi was No. 2 with 553 lyric mentions, followed by Michael Jordan with 439.

Other NBA players to appear on the list were LeBron James (188), Stephen Curry (119), and Magic Johnson (114).

Bryant's impact on the music world has continued to be felt following his death in January. Several artists paid tribute to Bryant at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards earlier this year, while others like Drake and The Game incorporated him into their music videos.
