Gobert denies beef with Shaq after contract extension criticism
Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert shut down talk of a beef between him and Shaquille O'Neal after he found himself on the receiving end of a couple shots from the Hall of Fame big man.
O'Neal appeared to take issue with Gobert's five-year, $205-million contract extension on a recent episode of the "All Things Covered" podcast, saying, "You average 11 points in the NBA, you can get 200 million." He then shared an image on Instagram of him dunking on Gobert with a prediction of what their stats would be in a game against each another.
Gobert responded to the image Monday, indicating he's not interested in getting into a back-and-forth with O'Neal.
There is no beef. If people wanna keep speaking negatively about me or keep discrediting what i do it’s on them and all that does is show who they are. I will always be happy for a brother beating the odds. And i’m gonna keep beating the odds. https://t.co/l241ZQ2Qk4

Gobert's extension, which he signed in December, is the largest deal for a center in NBA history.
