Rodgers to host 10 episodes of 'Jeopardy!' in April

The start date for Aaron Rodgers' "Jeopardy!" hosting gig has been announced.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback will begin his two-week stint on the popular game show April 5 following Katie Couric and Dr. Mehmet Oz's guest-hosting stints, according to Gary Levin of USA Today. The show's future guest hosts will also include CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, "Today" host Savannah Guthrie, and actress Mayim Bialik.

Each of the guests filmed their 10 episodes over two days in January, two months after the show's long-running host, Alex Trebek, died from pancreatic cancer.

Rodgers first announced he'd be hosting "Jeopardy!" during an interview on "The Pat McAfee Show," calling Trebek one of his idols growing up.

Rodgers previously appeared on "Celebrity Jeopardy!" in 2015, defeating Kevin O'Leary of "Shark Tank" and astronaut Mark Kelly to win $50,000 for charity.
