Lowry’s agent: ‘Not true’ that he’s pushing to go to 76ers
Franchise icon Kyle Lowry remains committed to the Toronto Raptors, according to his agent Mark Bartelstein.
Bartelstein denied rumors Thursday about Lowry's desire to land with the Philadelphia 76ers if he ends up getting dealt by Toronto ahead of the March 25 trade deadline.
"There was a story about how he's pushing to go to Philadelphia, that's just not true," Bartelstein said during an appearance on Sirius XM Radio. "I had to get on the phone with Masai (Ujiri) and Bobby (Webster) and make sure they knew that that certainly wasn't coming from us."
Lowry, whose current contract expires this offseason, is averaging 18 points and 6.5 assists per game while shooting 39.5% from long range. The floor general is focused on helping the Raptors "climb the standings in the East" as the season progresses, added Bartelstein.
An earlier report linked Lowry to the 76ers, while also naming the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat as potential suitors.
