The daughter of Arizona Cardinals legend Marshall Goldberg would have no issue with the team bringing her father's No. 99 out of retirement for J.J. Watt.

In an interview with TMZ Sports on Monday, Ellen Goldberg Tullos said she believes her father, who passed away in 2006, would've happily let Watt wear his jersey number in Arizona.

"Well, I know dad was really honored when they retired his number, but also he's always respected other players," Tullos said.

"If J.J. Watt had the number 99 with him for a long time and it meant something to him, I think he'd be delighted to let him use the number and unretire or whatever the proper word would be.

"He has my blessings, and I'm sure my father would be more than delighted for him to carry it on."

Goldberg played for the then-Chicago Cardinals from 1939-1943 and again from 1946-1948 following his service in World War II. He was inducted into the Cardinals Ring of Honor in 2006.
