A Kobe Bryant rookie card has joined the ranks of the highest-selling sports trading cards of all time.
The black label 1996-97 Topps Chrome Refractor sold at Goldin Auctions on Saturday night for $1.79 million, becoming the 10th-highest publicly known sports card sale ever, according to Action Network's Darren Rovell.
The 10th spot previously belonged to an autographed 1997 Michael Jordan jersey card that sold for $1.4 million.
Saturday's Goldin Auctions sale also included a LeBron James 2003-04 Rookie Patch autographed card purchased for $1,291,500 - an all-time record for any of James' cards produced between 2004 and now.
