Star left tackle Trent Williams is set to become one of the most coveted free agents, but there's still a possibility he'll remain with the San Francisco 49ers.

Williams' 49ers teammate Richard Sherman predicted the Oklahoma product would stay with San Francisco when free agency opens on March 17 while on the Cris Collinsworth Podcast on Tuesday.

"That's not a bad take, fellas. Y'all are barking up the right tree," Williams responded, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Texas native spent the first 10 years of his career with Washington before the team traded him to the 49ers leading up to the 2020 season. Williams returned to elite form despite San Francisco's down year, earning a Pro Bowl selection.

The 32-year-old spoke glowingly about his season with the Niners and reuniting with former Washington offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

"It made a world of difference of me to be in a place where I'm very comfortable," Williams said. "With people that I'm very comfortable with."
