Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will be re-evaluated in two weeks after an MRI revealed a bone bruise in his left knee, the team announced Saturday.

Embiid, 26, avoided any structural damage to his ACL and meniscus after hyperextending his knee in Friday's win over the Washington Wizards. However, the bone bruise is described as "deep," according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The four-time All-Star fell awkwardly on his leg after throwing down a dunk in the third quarter. He immediately dropped to the floor, writhing in pain while clutching his left knee. A stretcher was brought out to assist him, but he eventually limped to the locker room under his own power.

Embiid finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, and three assists Friday on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor. He's in the midst of an MVP-caliber year in his fifth season, averaging 29.9 points, 11.5 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 31 games.
