Ngannou sells $581K worth of NFTs after KO over Miocic
New UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has another reason to celebrate following his second-round knockout win over Stipe Miocic on Saturday.
Ngannou sold $581,038.88 worth of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as part of a digital collaboration with BossLogic - more than his guaranteed purse for his UFC 260 fight, according to BBC Sport's Chamatkar Sandhu.
The collection included 11 editions of an NFT called "Crowned" listed for $6,500 each along with a single-edition NFT called "Crowned King" that had a pending sale of $283,500, according to Tim Copeland of Decrypt. The winner of the "Crowned King" NFT will also receive a pair of gloves signed by Ngannou and tickets to his next fight.
Proceeds from the sale of the NFTs will support the Francis Ngannou Foundation.
