HBO's Lakers series casts more roles, including David Stern

HBO continues to fill out the cast for its upcoming series about the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers.

The show's latest additions include Andy Hirsch as former NBA commissioner David Stern, Tracy Letts as former Lakers head coach Jack McKinney, Julianne Nicholson as McKinney's wife Cranny, Jimel Atkins as Hall of Fame forward Jamaal Wilkes, and LisaGay Hamilton as Magic Johnson's mother Christine, according to Denise Petski of Deadline.

The star-studded cast also features John C. Reilly as Jerry Buss, Sally Field as Jessie Buss, Adrien Brody as Pat Riley, Jason Segel as Paul Westhead, Jason Clarke as Jerry West, Quincy Isaiah as Magic Johnson, and Solomon Hughes as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The yet-to-be-titled series will chronicle the professional and personal lives of the "Showtime" Lakers. It's based on Jeff Pearlman's book, "Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s."
