Tottenham Hotspur salvaged a European spot at the expense of bitter rivals Arsenal on Sunday, clinching seventh place - and a berth in the newly formed UEFA Europa Conference League - with a 4-2 comeback win at Leicester City.

Arsenal had briefly leapfrogged Tottenham in the standings but ultimately fell to eighth place after a remarkable turn of fortune on the final day of the season. Down 2-1, Spurs scored three times late in the second half to move up to 62 points, one ahead of the Gunners.

Arsenal will now miss out on European competition for the first time in 25 years.

West Ham also qualified for the Europa League with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Southampton. Pablo Fornals scored twice, and Declan Rice fired home from close range to confirm the club's first top-six finish in 22 years.

"Get your passports out, we are going into Europe!" West Ham manager David Moyes told fans at London Stadium, according to The Mirror's Darren Lewis.

Moyes guided the Hammers to Europe just a year after staving off relegation.

In Leicester, however, Europa League qualification was met with disappointment. The loss to Tottenham demoted the Foxes to Europe's second-tier competition for a second consecutive season - an especially demoralizing development since a win would've snatched fourth place from Chelsea.

The Blues finished in fourth despite losing 2-1 to Aston Villa.

Within 20 disastrous second-half minutes, Leicester conceded an own goal, and Gareth Bale recorded a brace to keep the east Midlands side out of the Champions League.

Leeds United and Everton flirted with Europe all season but ended up settling for ninth and 10th place, respectively. The Whites captured 59 points in their first Premier League campaign in 16 years, edging the Toffees on goal difference.
