Harden named executive producer on new Lil Baby, Lil Durk album
Rappers Lil Baby and Lil Durk enlisted help from Brooklyn Nets star James Harden in putting together their new joint album "The Voices of the Heroes."
Harden is listed as one of the executive producers on the album, which was released Friday. In a statement, Harden said he was honored to be involved in the project.
"From the beginning, I've had a passion for basketball, and music has always went hand and hand with it. It drives me on the daily to continue to be the best at what I do, to always strive for more," Harden said, according to Complex. "I see that same passion in Lil Baby and Lil Durk and can honestly say I'm a true fan.
"The initial idea was to get the two together to make a few songs. But with their work ethic and undeniable talent here we are. From late nights in my studio in Houston, the two of them being by my side as I transitioned from Houston to New York it was truly an honor to watch them in their element. Countless hours in the studio watching them create was an absolute privilege to say the least."
Lil Baby touched on Harden's involvement in his music career during an interview with Billboard's Carl Lamarre in January.
"He's an A&R for sure," the rapper said. "He got a real ear for music. That's how me and him linked on another level. He really into music."
