Report: Manchester City submit offer worth initial £100M for Kane
Manchester City have submitted an initial proposal for Harry Kane worth at least £100 million with the option for Tottenham Hotspur to have players included in the deal, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.
Kane requested to leave Spurs in May and is still keen to depart this summer. It's understood that Tottenham have no intention to accept City's offer but will need to wait until after Euro 2020 to resolve Kane's future.
The striker, who turns 28 later this month, led the Premier League in scoring (23 goals) and assists (14) as Spurs finished seventh in the 2020-21 season. However, he was substituted in both of England's two matches to open the Euros after failing to register a shot on target in each fixture.
City are short in Kane's position following the summer departure of Sergio Aguero to Barcelona. The main striking options left behind in Pep Guardiola's squad are Gabriel Jesus, who notched just nine Premier League goals last term, and 18-year-old Liam Delap. Guardiola fielded a false nine for a lot of the 2020-21 campaign.
Kane has previously voiced his admiration for Kevin De Bruyne and admitted how he'd like to link up with the City playmaker.
"Some of the balls I see him put in for City are just a striker's dream," Kane said in May.
City were reportedly in conversation with Kane's representatives soon after he asked to leave Tottenham. The Premier League champions have also been linked with a move for Erling Haaland, but Borussia Dortmund apparently intend to keep the 20-year-old Norwegian for another season.
