With the No. 39 pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings selected Utah State center Neemias Queta.

Queta spent three seasons with the Aggies, and he developed into a dominant defensive presence down low. The Portuguese center was twice named the Mountain West Conference's Defensive Player of the Year, and Queta averaged a double-double of 14.9 points and 10.1 rebounds as a junior along with 3.3 blocks and 1.1 steals per game.

The 22-year-old's most discernible qualities are his size and huge frame. He was the tallest player at the combine, measuring a hair over 7-feet without shoes, and Queta also recorded the longest wingspan at 7-foot-4 and the tallest standing reach at 9-foot-4.5.

When he debuts, the towering big man will make history as the first Portuguese player to play in the NBA.

Bio

Position: C
School: Utah State
College experience: Junior
Height: 7 feet
Weight: 248.4 lbs
Wingspan: 7-foot-4

Strengths

  • Excellent rim-protector. His 3.3 blocks per game ranked third in the country this past season.
  • Adept passer for a big, and great at finding open teammates when doubled in the post.

Weaknesses

  • Very limited range with his jumper and not a 3-point threat at all.
  • Relatively mobile for a center, but he still struggles with lateral movement. Could be exposed when switched onto quick guards.
